After a long wait, Samsung has just launched their most expensive and intelligent foldable device Galaxy Z Fold 6. After launching, I am going to tell you the 5 biggest problems of Galaxy Z Fold 6. Depending on usage, it is going to be perfect for some users, and useless for others.
So it is very important to know the 5 biggest problems of Galaxy Z Fold 6 for the users who are interested in buying it. Because the price of this device is already very high. Once purchased, if a user needs to sell or exchange it, its resale value will be much lower than new one.
Without further delay, let us know the 5 biggest problems of Galaxy Z Fold 6 one by one…
1. Wider cover display on Galaxy Z Fold 6 Disappoints Users
The first thing is the cover display. I think we all wanted a wider cover display for Galaxy Z Fold 6. But Samsung is not really delivering that. It’s going to be slightly wider but not really much of a change. So the total display on Z Fold 6 is just too thin to type or text with one hand.
Samsung is going to be making the cover display about 3 mm wider. It’s also going to have a slightly different aspect ratio. But that is not really something that’s going to make a huge difference, and it’s certainly not going to be as wide as your Galaxy S24 or S23 Ultra, and it is going to be hard to use that cover display on a day to day basis if that’s the main display you use.
Of course, if you use the inner display, it’s going to have a sharper corner boxier design, which could be good if you like the design of S24 Ultra. But I do think not having that wider cover display is a pretty big failure on Samsung’s part.
2. Samsung Fails to Give a Crease Visibility in the Galaxy Z Fold 6
The next thing is also a display deal. The crease is still pretty visible. So, look there at the crease. The Z Fold 5 had a nice visible crease off-axis just a little bit. You’re going to see it. The renders and leaks all have shown so far that Galaxy Z Fold 6 also has a very visible crease. Samsung seems to have no interest in pushing innovation in minimizing or reducing the visibility of the crease.
There have been a lot of Chinese brands like Vivo, Honor, Xiaomi, who have really innovated and made the crease less apparent, but it seems like Samsung doesn’t really care about that. However, users have really voiced their concerns and said that they would like to see less visible crease in further iterations of the fold.
3. Absence of Built In S-Pen Slot Disappoints Users
The next thing was really an addition that I think a lot of people wanted, and we don’t have it. That is the S-Pen slot built into the bottom of Galaxy Z Fold 6. Obviously, Z Fold 5 did not have a built in S-Pen slot, and Z Fold 6 also does not feature a built in S-Pen slot.
It seems like there’s really plenty of room here, but they seem more interested in continuing to thin down the profile of the Fold, which is great. Making it lighter and thinner and easier to put in your pocket is certainly positive because it is kind of a heavy brick right now. But having that S-Pen slot would make it easier to use the creative canvas.
4. Galaxy Z Fold 6 Falls Short in Camera Quality
The fourth thing, and let’s flip around the phone for this particular one, is the camera. The camera has always been a complaint on the Z Fold line. It is not up to par with the camera that you get on Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 Ultra. People want Ultra cameras when they’re paying an Ultra price, and all Samsung did with Galaxy Z Fold 6 is they redesigned the camera rings. They’re going to have some of those ridges and a more aggressive bezel, so it looks different.
But the actual camera hardware on the inside, the sensors and the quality of the hardware is going to be exactly the same. So Samsung could make some optimizations, of course, in software, but software only goes so far.
5. High Price and Missing Features Disappoint Potential Buyers
The final thing, I think everyone will agree, Z Fold is already a very expensive phone. It started at $1,799 in the U.S. for Z Fold 5, and Z Fold 6 is expected to get a price increase up to $1,899 USD. Almost $2,000 USD now for this foldable phone, and while it does a lot of amazing things, the camera quality being super, not having the wider display, not having the S Pen, it seems like a lot of people might be better off just purchasing Galaxy S24 Ultra, and I think that’s the route a lot of people have went instead of switching over to the foldable devices. So price is the final thing that should really make people think about it.
Hope you know the 5 biggest problems of Galaxy Z Fold 6. Along with the bad, this smartphone has a lot of good qualities and features. So it should not be totally condemned. We just pointed out the problems. Now on the basis of price and usage you have to consider whether this smartphone will be suitable for you.
