Finally, Apple is going to showcase iOS 19 on 9 June during the WWDC 2025 event.This event takes place every year in the month of June where Apple shares with its users what their next OS is going to be, and what new features or changes can come in it.

Translucent (Frosted Glass) Effect – You will see glass like or frosted glass effect in backgrounds and interface with a premium look.
Floating Tab Bars – Now Apple is going to replace fixed tab bars with floating tab bars with translucent effect, this will give a more modern and smooth experience, especially in Camera app and other stock apps.
Search Bar Position – Search bar position can be changed in apps like Settings and App Store, it can be shifted down instead of up, which will improve accessibility and speed.
Dedicated Games App – Mark Gurman has hinted through a tweet that Apple can bring a separate dedicated “Games” app, in which you can get gaming content at one place. This shows Apple’s push in the gaming segment.
AI-Powered Battery Optimization – AI will analyse the user’s usage pattern and optimise battery consumption to get better battery backup. Maybe it is special for slim phones like iPhone 17 Air, but if it comes in all devices then it is even better.
AirPods Live Translation – Real-time conversation translation can be possible through AirPods, like you are speaking English and the person in front of you can hear French or Spanish, there can be a feature like Google Pixel Buds.
Accessibility Features – This is confirmed by Apple in the press release,

Major Rumors about iOS 19
Desktop Mode for iPhone – There is a rumor that with iOS 19, you will be able to connect the iPhone to an external display and use it in desktop mode like Samsung DeX. Mostly it can be for Type-C iPhones. This feature can also come in iPad OS.
Stronger AI Integration – In iOS 18, Apple Intelligence was not as useful as Google or Samsung’s AI. New AI features are expected to come in iOS 19. Even Sundar Pichai had indirectly hinted that Google Gemini can be integrated in iPhone which will work with Siri. Meaning AI experience can go to the next level.
OS Version Numbering Change – Apple uses different version number on every device like iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS 15, visionOS 2 etc. To eliminate this confusion, Apple may bring everyone to the same number like iOS 26 (according to 2026) but for now we are using iOS 19.

The official showcase of iOS 19 is going to happen in WWDC 2025 on 9 June. Its developer beta will be launched a few weeks later, then the public beta will be released after a few days. And its final stable version can be found with new iPhones in September 2025.
